Study on the sorption process of triclosan on cationic microfibrillated cellulose and its antibacterial activity

摘要: Cationic microfibrillated cellulose (CMFC), as one kind of cellulose-based materials, is widely used in many fields. In this work, it was functionalized with a traditional antibacterial agent (triclosan, TCS). The sorption process TCS onto CMFC expressed by kinetic and isotherm models. results showed that there high correlation coefficient (R(2)>0.9) the pseudo-second-order model models, indicating had good capacity for TCS. type chemisorption, reaction power electrostatic interactions. activity assembled TCS/CMFC compound tested disk diffusion method, found higher than alone (bigger inhibition zone diameters). Further, fiber network during handsheets making, rate (increase 45.1% against Escherichia coli 54.8% Staphylococcus aureus, respectively).
