摘要: BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES The most important studies about outcome of acute leukemia come from developed countries, whereas the patients with this disease are in developing countries. We report predictive and prognostic factors lymphoblastic (ALL) a tertiary care center country. PATIENTS METHODS retrospectively reviewed records adult who were referred to American University Beirut Medical Center between 1996 early 2006. RESULTS Of 105 patients, 36 (34%) diagnosed ALL, included 19 (53%) males 17 (47%) females median age 34 years (range, 14−79 years). Induction chemotherapy curative intent was administered (94%) patients. Twenty-seven received intrathecal as prophylaxis (n = 24) or treatment for CNS (n = 3). Twenty-eight (82%) achieved complete remission (CR) after induction chemotherapy. overall survival (OS) time 22 months five-year OS ALL 38%. disease-free (DFS) 12 months, while DFS Multivariate analysis showed that 9 /L, achievement CR first induction, DFS. CONCLUSION Despite limitations relatively low socioeconomic status Lebanese population, (38%) quite similar international data. Trends toward higher adults due intensified consolidation chemotherapy, use stem cell transplantation, improvements supportive care.
