摘要: Observational studies suggested that the progression of carotid atherosclerosis and plaques might be an independent risk factor for coronary artery disease (CAD) stroke, prior researches different dosage statins therapy on in patients had small sample sizes results. We aimed to evaluate efficacy safety rate through randomized controlled trials (RCTs). searched MEDLINE (1980-September 2003), Cochrane Controlled Trials Register, EMBASE (1985-September Science Citation Index PUBMED (updated December 2003). Additional articles were obtained from reference lists relevant reviews papers manual searches. Ten (eight between placebo, two aggressive conventional therapy) included. Two reviewers extracted abstracts, appraised Jadad Score Grading Quality Randomized independently, discrepancies resolved by consensus with a third reviewer. analyzed 10 3443 individuals age range 30 70 years old follow-up 1-4 years. Eight showed rates IMT consistently significantly Z score overall effect was 10.41 (P 0.05). Our findings suggest are efficient safe decrease long-term, may provide superior regression.
