摘要: Gastric schwannomas are not common but clinically important in terms of differential diagnosis from other submucosal lesions. The precise preoperative diagnosis, however, has been challenging mainly owing to the lack specific findings conventional imaging studies. aim this study was revisit possibilities and limitations modern diagnostic modalities for gastric schwannomas. Fourteen consecutive patients with a final pathological schwannoma were retrospectively analyzed. Data included demographics, studies/diagnosis, surgery, histopathology, follow-up results. series 6 males 8 females, median age 49 years (range 26–68 years). No symptoms presented, except 1 patient epigastric pain. tumors located upper (n = 5), middle (3), lower stomach (6), size 41 mm 20–75 mm). Twelve (86 %) showed homogeneous enhancement on computed tomography. Ulceration seen endoscopy 4 12 available cases (33 %). Positron emission tomography performed last patients, showing fluorodeoxy-glucose uptake all (100 %). A obtained majority (13/14, 93 %); only case correctly diagnosed, by endoscopic aspiration cytology. Laparoscopic partial gastrectomy attempted completed 13 cases. have followed up 4.7 2.1–20.3 years), no recurrencesor metastases acceptable gastrointestinal function. remains difficult even Surgery, therefore, should be positively considered without conclusive diagnosis.
