Preparation of methoxyl poly(ethylene glycol) (MPEG)-coated carbonyl iron particles (CIPs) and their application in potassium dihydrogen phosphate (KDP) magnetorheological finishing (MRF)

摘要: Abstract KDP is a common type of optics that extremely difficult to polish by the conventional route. MRF local polishing technology based on material removal via shearing with minimal normal load and sub-surface damage. In contrast traditional emendation an abrasive, MPEG soft coating designed prepared modify CIP surface achieve hardness matched because inevitably takes part in during finishing. Morphology infrared spectra are explored prove existence homogeneous coating, improvement for quality validated analysis roughness, turning grooves, stress. The synthesized MPEG-coated (MPEG-CIP) chemically physically compatible KDP, which can be removed after cleaning. Our research exhibits promising prospects MPEG-CIP MRF.
