摘要: The only commercially viable method of sexing mammalian sperm is to use a flow cytometer measure DNA content via fluorescence the DNA-bound fluorophore Hoechst 33342, and then sort into three populations, probably X, Y, undetermined. Millions insemination doses sexed are produced annually by this procedure. Although accuracy usually exceeds 90%, procedure one at time has serious limitations, including cost, rates, damage resulting in lowered fertility, but not abnormalities offspring. Suggested areas for research include determining how damaged where process fertilization embryonic development infertility manifest. Pre post sorting procedures done approximately hourly batches, these might be changed continuous procedures. Numerous genetic, physical, immunological millions parallel have been proposed, none appears suitable commercialization due issues accuracy, repeatability, sperm, other problems. However, increasing numbers reports appearing concerning improvements procedures, it inevitable that or more them eventually will prove efficacious. In developing such critical monitor regularly rapid inexpensive as situ hybridization, quantitative PCR, reanalysis cytometry. Furthermore, monitoring fertility vitro should integral process. Intellectual property could substantive.
