摘要: The effects of gamma-irradiation with a cesium-137 source were assessed on endothelial cells isolated from bovine pulmonary arteries and maintained in culture. radiobiologic parameters that characterize the dose-response survival curve for these cells, expressed as mean +/- SD found to be n . 1.6 0.2, Dq 71 13 rads, Do 161 35 indicating relatively low capacity accumulate or repair radiation damage. Increasing doses led decreasing uptake by (14C)2-aminoisobutyric acid (AIB), Na+-dependent nonmetabolizable amino acid. A dose 500 which caused marked inhibition cell survival, resulted 45% decrease AIB at 6 h 69% 24 after irradiation. No morphologic abnormality was noted light microscopy this radiation. Bovine artery fibroblasts, other hand, showed no significant impairment exposure high 5,000 rads. (14C)1-aminocyclopentane-1-carboxylic acid, an transported Na+-independent process, not influenced radsmore » Our studies show are sensitive impaired represents early event damage cell.« less
