摘要: Abstract Reaction products of selenite with thiols were tested for an inhibitory effect on amino acid incorporation in a cell-free system derived from rat liver and protein synthesis intact P815 L1210 cells. In the maximum inhibition, up to 96%, was reached at about 10 μM selenium. cells varied depending which reaction product or cell line used. Maximum inhibition obtained after 30 min incubation selenium concentrations ranging 0.25 over 7 μM. Selenite itself also inhibited cells, but only 90 starting 2 Inhibition followed by death. Pre-incubation monothiol (2-propanethiol) vicinal dithiol (2,3-dimercapto-1-propanol) culture medium showed rapid decrease capability monothiol, not dithiol. The results indicate that thiol react form have differential toxic effects vitro.
