摘要: Abstract Human cancer cells selected for resistance to multiple Hydrophobie cytotoxic drugs express the cell surface P-glycoprotein, which is product of MDR1 gene. In this review Michael Gottesman and Ira Pastan discuss genetic biochemical data indicating that P-glycoprotein a major component an energy-dependent efflux system antagonized by specific agents prevent binding protein. Expression occurs in normal liver, kidney, colon, jejunum adrenal gland, suggesting protein functions as transport compounds. Many multidrug-resistant tumors arising from these tissues elevated levels, do some become drug-resistant during chemotherapy.
