摘要: Objective To determine if absolute plasma lactate concentration or clearance in dogs with septic peritonitis is associated morbidity mortality. Design Retrospective cohort study from 2007 to 2012. Setting University teaching hospital. Animals Eighty-three were included. Patients had at least 1 measurement during the course of hospitalization. Results Sixty-four percent patients survived discharge, 22% euthanized, and 14% died hospitalization. Plasma >2.5 mmol/L on admission (29% patients) was mortality (P = 0.001). Median (n 81) significantly different between nonsurvivors (2.5 mmol/L, range 0.5–8.4) survivors (1.4 0.5–9.7; P 0.007). Admission >4 yielded a sensitivity 36% specificity 92% for nonsurvival. The inability normalize within 6 hours 10/24) 76% 100% Postoperative hyperlactatemia (plasma >2 mmol/L; n 18/76) 46% 88% Persistent postoperative 11/18) Lactate less than 21% 20) 54% 91% 42% 12 18) 82% nonsurvival. Conclusions Admission good prognostic indicators peritonitis.
