摘要: The occurrence of black-coated individuals in wolfCanis lupus Linnaeus, 1758 populations is not surprising itself, but their presence recovering from a severe numerical decline has been considered possible sign crossbreeding with the domestic dog. In northern Apennines (Italy), black wolves occur at non-negligible frequency. 3300 km2 area, 22% observed and 23% all dead found were represented by animals completely coat. One ‘black’ wolf belonging to studied population was analysed set microsatellite loci, no trace hybridization its ancestry. This result induced us consider phenotype this area possibly derived natural combination alleles coat colour determining genes, necessarily as form.
