摘要: Objectives The categorisation of colon cancer (CC) into right-sided (RCC) and left-sided (LCC) disease may not capture more subtle variances in aetiology prognosis. In a nationwide study, we investigated differences clinical characteristics survival RCC versus LCC the complete range CC subsites. Design Prospective cohort study. Setting database Danish Colorectal Cancer Group (DCCG). Participants 23 487 patients. Outcome measures Overall (Kaplan-Meier plots) mortality (HR from Cox proportional hazards regression analysis) according to localisation. For adjustment stratification, used age, sex, ASA score (the American Society Anaesthesiologists score), tumour location stage, number lymph nodes harvested at operation, with metastases presence distant metastases. Results Patients had higher median age diagnosis (74.3 years) than patients (71.8 years; p Conclusions present data challenge simple LCC.
