摘要: Abstract Sardine oil was incorporated at 3, 6, 9 and 12% into a fish-meal-based 40% protein diet fed to mahseer fingerlings for 126 days 5% body weight. Treated fish showed significantly higher growth than control, but did not differ among themselves. Muscle composition RNA/DNA ratios reflected the trend. Feed efficiency superior 6% diet. Dietary lipid influenced muscle fat content. Protease activity found be in intestinal segments liver pancreas both control treated fish. Oil incorporation highest level induced only lipase production, also protease secretion. The possible role of sparing is discussed.
