摘要: Detection of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) in the blood via so-called 'liquid biopsies' carries enormous clinical potential malignancies central nervous system (CNS) because to follow disease evolution with a test, without need for repeat neurosurgical procedures their inherent risk patient morbidity. To date studies non-CNS malignancies, particularly breast cancer, show increasing reproducibility detection methods these rare circulation. However, no method has yet received full recommendation use practice, part lack sufficient evidence base regarding utility. In CNS one main challenges is finding suitable biomarker identification cells, automated systems such as widely used Cell Search are reliant on markers epithelial cell adhesion molecule (EpCAM) which not present tumors. This review examines CTC enrichment and detection, reviews progress tumors using this technique human brain
