摘要: Since its discovery as the elusive tumor suppressor gene at frequently mutated 10q23 locus, PTEN has been identified lost or in several sporadic and heritable types. A decade of work established that is a nonredundant phosphatase essential for regulating highly oncogenic prosurvival PI3K/AKT signaling pathway. This review discusses emerging modes function regulation, speculates about how manipulation could be used cancer therapy.
