Requirements for the selection of ecosystem service indicators – The case of MAES indicators

摘要: Abstract Although the concept of ecosystem services (ES) has thrived over last ten years, its operationalization is still in infancy. A major challenge operationalizing ES selection scientifically defensible, policy relevant and widely accepted indicators. Here we examine how conceptualizations influence indicator selection, what criteria (such as validity relevance to a issue) are applied this process. We analyze framed “Mapping Assessment Ecosystems their Services” (MAES) working group which used project.
