Expression of CEACAM1 in Adenocarcinoma of the Lung: A Factor of Independent Prognostic Significance

摘要: PURPOSE: To evaluate the prognostic relevance of CEACAM1 and sialyl Lewis X expression in adenocarcinomas lung. PATIENTS AND METHODS: Paraffin wax sections 93 patients with lung who underwent surgery between 1990 1995 were immunohistochemically investigated using monoclonal anti-CEACAM1 antibodies. The clinical course all was followed up for a minimum 5 years. RESULTS: Sixty-one tumors classified as CEACAM1-positive, 32 CEACAM1-negative. Patients CEACAM1-positive had significantly poorer overall (P = .00025) relapse-free .00029) survival than those CEACAM1-negative tumors. Only three did not express glycotope, whereas 90 (97%) X–positive. In multivariate Cox regression analysis, next to tumor stage sex, only significant independent factor survival.
