摘要: Serotoninergic (5-HT) neurons derived from the embryonic raphe nuclear area (brainstem, days (E 16-18) were implanted into entorhinal cortex of 6-day-old (P6) neonatal rat recipients which had received a fimbria lesion and ablation on P3. The hippocampus, dentate gyrus, implant examined with 5-HT immunohistochemistry 7, 14, 21, 30, 60 after implantation. pattern reinnervation was compared to that normal lesioned animals, previous studies in rats septal or striatal implants. In hippocampus adjacent 5-HT-immunoreactive fibers first observed by 7 postimplantation increased density their septotemporal dorsoventral extent increasing time postimplantation. Moderately dense fiber networks diffusely distributed gyrus at 30 postimplant. Little, if any, indication lamination present. Retrogradely labeled (the majority contained immunoreactivity) following injections Fast Blue hippocampal formation. A few retrogradely cells did not contain 5-HT, methionine-enkephalin (ME), substance P (SP) immunoreactivity, although ME- SP- immunoreactive patterns clearly differ implant.
