摘要: Data from four radio-tracked female otters (Lutra lutra) were used to describe the temporal and spatial patterns of resting-sites by species along south-west coast Portugal. Two tracked during 24-h periods, showing a continuous resting period in daylight, whereas night there several hunting bouts sea interspersed with periods ashore. These spent most time each day daytime rest-sites (72.1%), devoted only small (18.3%) other activities (9.6%). The onset fishing activity was monitored for three animals, starting on average 45.4min after sunset; this largely independent degree human disturbance close rest-sites. Most located within dense thickets Rubus sp. coastal estuarine streams, sometimes they near areas disturbed activities. Three captured found eight 116 occasions, otter using regularly number sites (2.7); mean re-use rate high (9.5 days per site), spread over 4.2-15.0km coast, 0.20-0.71 sites/km. One an stream, where she 70 occasions 13 6.0 km streams; density 2.2 sites/km 5.4 days/site. results study suggest that are scarce marine-feeding This is probably because these have obligatory association freshwater sources, infrequent scattered coast. Conservation implications discussed.
