摘要: Interictal and ictal EEG characteristics derived from limited surface montages medial temporal lobe sites were compared with long-term seizure relief following anterior lobectomy in 52 epileptics. Patients classified into one of four surgical outcome groups, ranging free to no clinical improvement. For each patient, interictal records analyzed according deep spike background activity. Ictal the proportion episodes initiated a unilateral or bilaterally synchronous fashion, onsets, variability onset location, morphology seizures onsets. variables that correlates included: (a) various types surface/deep spikes; (b) diffuse slowing; (c) sharp waves; (d) presence multiple independent patterns chosen for resection. Relevant fashion; location; precisely focal onsets sites; onsets; (e) side Multivariate analysis these data linear, stepwise, discriminate adaptive, nonlinear, distribution-free pattern recognition demonstrated that: both can independently predict at levels significantly better than chance; contain nonredundant information making such predictions; nonlinear techniques are capable deriving most accurate rules predicting effects surgery.
