摘要: The current study represents the first investigation of suitability wolf hair as indicator tissue for metal exposure and accumulation within NW Spanish ecosystems. Dead animals, which were not specifically killed these purposes, necropsied, further toxicological analyses performed in order to establish heavy content (Pb, Cd, Zn) liver, kidney, hair, by means inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry. Two different factors, gender age, considered determine their influence on accumulation. Mean kidney concentrations both toxic element, Cd (0.528, 2.692, 0.026 ppm) Pb (4.108, 0.031, 0.196 a dry weight basis, situated below established acute toxicity levels mammals. highest quantified Zn, with ranging from maximum samples (150.9 minimum (25.81 ppm). When variable age considered, female adult wolves had higher all organs, although differences only statistically significant kidney. Neither sex nor effect Zn concentrations. A positive correlation (p < 0.05) was identified between liver concentrations, well thus suggesting interest noninvasive sample future ecotoxicological biomonitoring studies.
