摘要: The administration of iodinated contrast medium (CM) has immediate negative impact on multiple levels the nephron, including vasoconstriction, an increase in apoptotic pathways and oxidative stress. Therefore, contrast-induced acute kidney injury (CI-AKI) remains important cause sudden impairment renal function. Far from being just a transient phenomenon, CI-AKI consistently been shown to be associated with adverse outcomes. phenomenon chronic disease (CKD) following AKI might explain why this entity portends poor prognosis long run. While it is generally acknowledged that individuals normal function, risk negligible, pre-existing its greatest independent factor. Although several recent publications have challenged dogma as stand-alone entity, these trials, despite careful propensity matching, are hampered by their retrospective nature. In article, we concede there always trade-off CM may justified if diagnostic value believed outweigh risks. However, reason considerable progress field, still high modern era CM-based imaging should employed great restraint patients CKD.
