摘要: Abstract In order for a project to be satisfactory end-users and completed with high quality, the architecture, engineering, construction (AEC) industry heavily relies on digital modeling, simulation visual communication. past two decades, AEC community has examined different approaches, including virtual augmented reality, improve communication, visualization, coordination among participants; yet these approaches are slowly being adopted by industry. Such technological advancements have potential revolutionize current in design (e.g., involving end-user feedback ensure higher performing building operations satisfaction), improving safety through training), visualizing real-time sensor data diagnostics). The authors' research vision builds upon value of using immersive environments (IVEs) during design, construction, operation phases projects. IVEs could provide sense presence found physical mock-ups make evaluation an increased set alternatives possible timely cost-efficient manner. Yet, use buildings, it is important that collected analyzed such represent environments. To test whether adequate representations measure user performance environments, this paper presents results from experiment investigates everyday office-related activities reading text identifying objects office environment) benchmarks participants' similar environment. Sense also measured within IVE questionnaires. By analyzing experimental 112 participants, authors concluded participants perform similarly setting as they do benchmarked environment all tasks. questionnaire show felt strong IVE. Based data, thus demonstrate can effective tool phase projects acquire feedback, which might lead infrastructure satisfaction.
