摘要: Bacteriophage N4 regulates the temporal expression of its genome through activity three distinct RNA polymerases (RNAP). Expression early genes is carried out by a phage-encoded, virion-encapsidated RNAP (vRNAP) that injected into host at onset infection and transcribes genes. These encode components new transcriptional machinery (N4 RNAPII cofactors) responsible for synthesis middle RNAs. Both RNAPs belong to T7-like “single-subunit” family polymerases. Herein, we describe their mechanisms promoter recognition, regulation, roles in phage life cycle.
