摘要: Globally, approximately 240 people have been infected worldwide with hepatitis B Virus (HBV). India has HBV carrier rate of 3.0% a high prevalence in the tribal population. With population more than 1.25 billion, 37 million carriers and contributes large proportion this burden. While horizontal transmission childhood appears to be major route transmission, role vertical is probably underestimated. Blood transfusion unsafe therapeutic injections continue important modes HBV. There need for field studies better understand epidemiology identify areas, public health measures prevent disease decrease burden disease.
