摘要: Osteoporosis and atherosclerosis often present atypically in postmenopausal women, making clinical recognition difficult. Prospective studies suggest independent associations between bone mass vascular calcification through vitamin D deficiency as an established predictor of both conditions. We aimed to examine the relationship serum osteocalcin status women with without angiographic evidence coronary artery disease (CAD). One hundred eighty undergoing angiography were selected sequentially from Catheterization unit King Abdulaziz University Hospital. Socio-demographic, anthropometric parameters dietary habits measured. Biochemical variables estimated blood samples. Half did not have significant CAD, 24% had CAD a single and/or double vessels, 26% three vessels. Mean concentrations showed that was common finding whole population. Vitamin calcium intakes uniformly low study cohort. Serum significantly correlated all subgroups (r=-0.172, p<0.05) positively among patients (r=0.269, p=0.01). magnesium, alkaline phosphatase, D, body weight level. In conclusion, elevated levels C reactive protein associated levels. Therefore, may be potential cardiovascular risk marker. However, further are needed clarify pathophysiological processes underlying level parameters.
