摘要: The complexity of the brain makes investigation anatomically defined regions using manual dissection techniques problematic. With these techniques, only a mixture many different cell types can be obtained. This leads to averaging contents all types, making it nearly impossible observe effects that are specific one type cell. Laser microdissection enables individual cell-types dissected accurately from for subsequent analysis genome, proteome or, most frequently, transcriptome. Investigating functionally relevant cells with high specificity provides unambiguous data, resulting in faster identification potential targets, elucidation drug mode-of-action, as well aiding biomarkers diagnostics use.
