摘要: Despite increasing understanding of the cellular and molecular mechanisms that cause pathology in children who suffer traumatic brain injury, few advances have been made developing new effective therapies for such injury. In past, clinicians treated some neurologically injured patients with sustained application systemic hypothermia. This practice was largely abandoned when experienced complications; however, interest has renewed treatment milder forms review focuses on clinical laboratory evidence concerning this therapy. Promising results from two trials are presented. Moreover, is discussed support notion more so than adults, may benefit hypothermic Lastly, putative effects hypothermia, including attenuation injury caused by inflammation, excitotoxic amino acids, nitric oxide, free radicals, discussed.
