摘要: The segment polarity genes play a fundamental role in the patterning of cells within individual body segments Drosophila embryo. Two these wingless (wg) and hedgehog (hh) encode proteins that enter secretory pathway both are thought to act by instructing fates neighbouring those which they expressed. Genetic analysis bas identified transcriptional activation wg as one targets hh activity: here we present evidence transduction hh-encoded signal is mediated activity four other genes, patched, fused, costal-2 cubitus interruptus. results our genetic epistatsis together with molecular structures products where known, suggest interactions leading from reception at cell membrane nucleus. We have also found transcription patched regulated same describe identification cis-acting upstream elements ptc unit mediate this regulation.
