摘要: PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to assess the relative frequency epithelial lesions conjunctiva in Canada. METHODS: A retrospective 12,102 consecutive cases received during 16 years (1993-2009) at Henry C. Witelson Ocular Pathology Laboratory Montreal, Canada, performed. Demographic data retrieved from histopathological request forms and specimens were categorized analyzed by mean percentage. a single center representing province Quebec reviewed. RESULTS: Of reviewed, 273 conjunctival (2.25%), including 86 tumors (0.71%) that comprised studied sample. average age these patients 59.9 ± 17.6 years, gender distribution 66 (69%) males 30 (31%) females. Fifteen (17.4%) classified as squamous cell papillomas (mean age, 57.3 16.7 years). Within ocular surface neoplasia (OSSN) spectrum, there 10 (11.6%) actinic keratosis (63.8 years), 27 (31.3%) intraepithelial (CIN) with variable degrees atypia (mild moderate) (63.9 15.3 15 carcinomas situ (66.7 18.0 17 (19.7%) (SCC) (56.2 19.4 Two other rare malignant included one basal carcinoma mucoepidermoid carcinoma.
