摘要: ✓ The authors report the first case of chronic globus pallidus internus (GPi) stimulation for treatment medically intractable hemidystonia which long-term follow-up data are available. patient had developed left-sided low-frequency tremor and after a severe head trauma sustained at 15 years age. He experienced relief but not thalamotomy was performed in right hemisphere 3 postinjury. When 24 old, magnetic resonance-guided stereotactic implantation monopolar electrode right-sided posteroventral GPi. Chronic deep brain resulted remarkable improvement dystonia-associated pain, phasic dystonic movements, posture, accompanied by functional gain. Postoperative 4 follow up. GPi appears to be valuable option posttraumatic dystonia.
