摘要: Results described herein provide insight regarding certain features of gamete RNA and how they compare to cumulus cell RNA. In particular, 28S/18S rRNA ratio size distribution molecules differed in total from oocytes versus surrounding cells. Specifically, oocyte had a lower an increased abundance smaller sizes compared cumulus. Extensive efforts demonstrated that observed differences were repeatable whether maturation occurred vitro or vivo, similar between the nuclear stages examined. Features conserved across six mammalian species, yet Profiles sperm also examined but no discernible ribosomal peaks four species. Because spermatozoon are highly specialized cells representing unique molecular entities required for proper embryo development, dissimilarities likely represent real differences.
