摘要: In the context of a measurement development study designed to contextualize microbicide acceptability, sample that represented range at-risk women and maintained statistical power needed for validity analyses was required. A non-proportional quota sampling strategy focused on race/ethnicity number sexual partners utilized. This resulted in enrollment approximately equal proportions Latina (31%), Black (36%), White (32%) women, an 1:2 ratio single-partnered (29%) multi-partnered (71%) women. About 17% screened were ineligible based eligibility criteria; additional 16% closures. Most participants recruited through word mouth (39%), community-based organizations (19%), or media sources (19%). Women had highest screen-to-interview completion percentage (67%). Non-proportional is feasible option ensuring adequate representation characteristics research, but this goal should be weighed against cost staff burden.
