摘要: Energy system optimization models (ESOMs) should be used in an interactive way to uncover knife-edge solutions, explore alternative configurations, and suggest different ways achieve policy objectives under conditions of deep uncertainty. In this paper, we do so by employing existing technique called modeling generate alternatives (MGA), which involves a change the model structure order systematically near-optimal decision space. The MGA capability is incorporated into Tools for Model Optimization Analysis (Temoa), open source framework that also includes technology rich, bottom up ESOM. analysis, Temoa energy futures simplified single region represents U.S. electric sector portion light duty transport sector. Given dataset limitations, place greater emphasis on methodological approach rather than specific results.
