摘要: Background/Aims: Albuminuria and carotid atherosclerosis are predictors of cardiovascular disease potential cognitive decline. Our aim was to study whether albuminuria an early predictor function independent in a general population. Methods: The population comprised 1,577 adults without self-reported stroke. In 1994 2007 all were screened for risk factors, urinary albumin-creatinine ratio (ACR), intima-media thickness total plaque area (TPA). Endpoints neuropsychological test results from the digit symbol test, finger-tapping Mini Mental Status Examination 12-word parts 1 2. Multivariate linear regression used assess associations. Results: Higher ACR, ΔACR, thickness, TPA ΔTPA independently predicted lower score on test. ΔACR part (immediate recall). Smoking scores tests atherosclerosis. Conclusions: suggest that albuminuria, smoking executive motor tempo.
