摘要: Little is known about the biology of Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC), also called small skin. MCC has similarities with lung cancer (SCLC): both are neuroendocrine malignancies early metastasis to distant sites and a poor prognosis. Small biopsies have frequent losses on chromosome 3 in region 3p21, yet MCCs not been reported 3p deletions by karyotypic analysis. Considering between SCLC MCC, we investigated 26 tumours for loss heterozygosity (LOH) 3p. First, RFLP analysis was performed using PCR nine primer sets from six loci. Second, 25 were examined microsatellite markers D3S1289 D3S1285 SST 3q. All informative at one or more loci; these, 18 (69%) demonstrated LOH least marker short arm. For all loci frequency greater than 30% (range 33–75%). In line derived tumour, it possible demonstrate rearrangement situ hybridisation. No seen 15 cases 3q locus SST. A 3p13-p21.1, centered D3S2, deleted demonstrating LOH, secondary deletion involving D3S30 detected some 3p13. Our results indicate that common occurrence MCC; however, three which DNA available corresponding suggest there may be subset whose genesis independent Genes Chromosom Cancer 15:102–107 (1996) © 1996 Wiley-Liss, Inc.
