摘要: Conies of hematopoietic tissue are formed in spleens lethally irradiated mice by the injection small numbers cells. Some these colonies appear as surface colonies, others can be identified only serial sections spleen. The present studies have related number and cellular composition total murine spleen to their visual recognition on splenic surface. These demonstrate that 50% a recognized those surface, approximately 80% contain erythroid elements. At least four factors play important roles colonies: (1) dose repopulating cells or stem injected into animal; (2) location within spleen; (3) size colonies; (4) content colonies. colony formation reflects primarily erythropoiesis not hematopoiesis.
