摘要: Background. Many studies have reported the increased expression of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) in various human malignancies and its association with biologic behavior tumors. Methods. We performed an immunohistochemical analysis EGFR 217 cases esophageal squamous cell carcinoma, 161 lymph node metastases 23 foci dysplasias. The findings were correlated clinicopathologic features, including clinical outcome. Southern blot was 42 for detection DNA amplification gene subsequently immunoreactivity. Results. Epidermal overexpression detected 71% primary tumors 88% metastases, as compared to nonpathologic adjacent epithelium. Statistically significant correlations observed between sex, age, histologic type, presence invasion. Tumor staining classified into two patterns, homogeneous heterogeneous, based on distribution EGFR-positive cells. immunostaining patterns had a statistically correlation adventitial invasion, stage metastasis. There tendency toward worse prognosis those patients tumor. Greater than 90% dysplasia demonstrated overexpression. 21% tumors, all overexpression. Conclusions. Immunohistochemical EGFR, which more frequent amplification, appears play important role carcinomas.
