The impact of war on happiness: The case of Ukraine

摘要: Abstract In this paper, we study how war affects happiness using data from the on-going conflict in Ukraine. Using a difference-in-difference design, find that average level of declined substantially areas experience directly, with drop being roughly comparable to loss relatively well-off person would if he/she were become poor person. At same time, despite fact East dominates local media Ukraine, respondents other regions Ukraine are about as happy they before war.
