摘要: Pancreatic polypeptide (PP) levels of plasma and pancreas were studied in the rat after streptozotocin (STZ) injection. In 4 weeks observation, PP was elevated up to times control values with marked hyperglycemia insulinopenia. At weeks, intravenous (i.v.) glucose tolerance tests i.v. insulin performed. test, rats responded a 10-fold increase 15% decrease levels, whereas STZ-diabetic produced no an approximately 50% reduction hyperglycemia. diabetic showed less than controls. rats, pancreatic reduced about 3.5% control, those somatostatin (SRIF), glucagon 8.3, 2.7 1.4 respectively. morphometric study, islet areas seen be 10% control. With vitro perfused slices, released much more pancreas. Thus, STZ injection caused β-cell damage as well hyperplasia SRIF, cells, hypersecretion.
