摘要: BACKGROUND. Difficulties with cytologic diagnoses on fine-needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) of the liver can be overcome by application immunocytochemical panels applied smears. The aim current study was to analyze performance a panel monoclonal antibodies differentiate hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) from metastatic (MC) or regenerative nodules, and identify date unknown primary sites carcinomas that had metastasized liver. METHODS. In validating cohort study, 108 FNACs coin lesions in were routinely evaluated applying immunocytochemistry as an ancillary method. All patients confirmatory histologic and/or clinical follow-up. A total 23 HCCs analyzed for distinction MC nodules HepPar1, a-fetoprotein, BerEP4, CD31, CD68, Ki-67. 85 cases tumor used CK5/6, CK7, CK20, CA 125, thyroid transcription factor-1 (TTF-1), Cdx2. RESULTS. Typing accuracy HCC 100% 90.3%, respectively, site MC. cases, remained clinically unknown. CONCLUSIONS. same slide microscopic diagnosis is useful tool routine assessment discriminate identification Their should confirmed larger series cases.
