AMBI and M-AMBI indices as a robust tool for assessing the effluent stressed ecosystem in Nandgaon Coastal waters, Maharashtra, India

摘要: Abstract Due to industrialization, estuarine and coastal water receive a bulk amount of effluent/pollutant from various industries; therefore assessment the health ecosystem is very much essential. Although AMBI (Azti Marine Biotic index) indices have been used predict quality European waters, no implementation WFD (Water Framework Directives) has made on Indian waters so far. In view that, present study was undertaken assess stressed Nandgaon India. The results were highly correlated with total organic carbon in heavily disturbed area ecological groups IV V.
