摘要: Seismic regions are characterized by reinforced concrete (RC) structures designed without seismic provisions. As the structural upgrade of such becomes necessary, one approaches that recent design guidelines suggest is hierarchy strength. By increasing strength and ductility critical components, their brittle catastrophic failure prevented occurrence more desirable mechanisms promoted. This approach allows improving global behavior structure. The key issue strengthening RC frames represented beam-column connection. paper presents a technique based on fiber-reinforced polymer composites for connections was validated with tests 11 initially underdesigned specimens. results experimental investigation presented, discussion how different parameters influenced samples in terms or ductility, both, offered.
