摘要: Pediatric CNS tumors are the most common solid tumor of childhood and leading cause cancer-related death in this age group. Improving prognosis is not only challenge facing physicians managing these young patients as it vital to consider quality survival. Current management strategies rely on surgery, radiotherapy conventional cytotoxic chemotherapy, although ongoing clinical trials continue refine treatments, newer approaches required. This article will discuss current treatment standards for pediatric tumors: astrocytomas (low- high-grade glioma), ependymoma primitive neuroectodermal (medulloblastoma), well future biological-based novel therapies.
