摘要: Responses of single nerve units from the canine and incisor pulps anaesthetized beagles to CaCl2 (3.5 M, 4.9 M saturated) NaCl (2.5 4.0 M) were recorded. The sensitivity these drilling probing dentine, drying with air blasts, was also studied. Twenty-one out 22 responded immediately, either a few spikes or, sometimes, 2-5 s train impulses, hypertonic when applied superficial dentine. Deep in induced immediately responses 15 21 units. There 19 units, but only deep This firing had latency 15-300 (mean 94 s) continued until solution washed away. Units sensitive drilling, drying. When exposed pulp, never activity, all tested (n = 19); latencies 0-300 34 s). mechanism activation response is probably hydrodynamic, common several other stimuli as may have been by direct excitatory effect Na+-ions on endings or axons pulp-dentine border.
