摘要: Despite substantial conservation efforts, biodiversity continues to decline and further action is needed. This imposes significant opportunity cost on local communities, particularly in developing countries where livelihood depends strictly land use agricultural activities. Incorporating socio-economic data into methods for the identification of priorities can reduce conflicts between development conservation. We present a systematic selection priority sites 353 Ugandan mammals amphibians. used suitable habitat as an estimate area potentially occupied by each species inside its geographic range, estimated based profit. software Marxan identify that need be added existing protected areas (IUCN categories I-IV) conserve amphibians at minimum cost. In addition areas, covering ca. 17,100 km2, 57,500 km2 should achieve target mammals, bringing coverage 38% country. The are irreplaceable achievement occupy 32,800 mostly located Western Eastern regions overlap with Afromontane hotspot Albertine Rift. yearly profit from these amounts 540,700,000 US$, or 16,524 US$/km2 (2008 value).
