摘要: Policies on spatial planning and mobility often take it for granted that a location policy favours situating human activities near junctions of public transport results in frequent use sustainable modes transport. But the daily practice we come across more critical statements. As Flemish Ministry Mobility Public Works considers investing resources an improved policy, they asked evidence possible commuting context, including Brussels. Quite exceptionally, utilise individual census data from nearly all 1, 2 million commuters. These detailed allow precise description commuter characteristics different locations construction robust geographical pattern. We focus analysis four kinds locations: railway stations, junctions, urban areas with high economic density. An exploratory suggests people working and/or living these travel less distance, especially by car, make slow modes. A cluster shows there are differences, resulting clear patterns, which suggest policies should be spatially differentiated. result, support idea using to produce commuting.
