摘要: Abstract Background This experimental study investigates infectious complications and functional outcome of biological meshes in a contaminated environment. Methods In 90 rats peritonitis was induced, after 24 hours, mesh implanted intraperitoneally including 2 non-crosslinked groups (Strattice Surgisis) crosslinked (CollaMendFM Permacol). Sacrifice 180 days. Results More infections occurred compared with (70% vs 4%; P Conclusions Infection rate field the highest meshes. All showed poor incorporation, which makes long-term abdominal wall repair questionable.
