摘要: Platycodonis Radix, the root of Platycodon grandiflorum (Jacq.) A. DC., is a well-known edible herbal medicine. It common vegetable used for preparation side dish, kimchi, dessert, and tea. Besides, it has been to treat respiratory disease including cough, excessive phlegm, sore throat long history. In past decades, bioactive components pharmacological activities Radix have widely investigated. Thereinto, platycodins, oleanane-type triterpenoid saponins were demonstrated be main in more than 70 platycodins identified up date. This paper mainly reviewed phytochemistry, (apophlegmatic, anti-tussive, anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer, anti-obesity, anti-diabetic, immunomodulatory, cardiovascular protective, hepatoprotective activities, etc.), toxicology pharmacokinetics isolated from aiming promote further investigation on therapeutic potential these platycodins.
