摘要: The induction of immunological memory to serogroup A and C polysaccharides in UK infants immunized with three doses a meningococcal A/C oligosaccharide CRM197 conjugate vaccine was investigated. Forty vaccinated previously oligosaccharide-CRM197 at 2, 3 4 months age, were revaccinated mean age 145.6 weeks either 10 or 50 microg dose licensed polysaccharide vaccine. Serogroup-specific antibody serum bactericidal (SBA) responses measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay assays, respectively. Following challenge, anti-serogroup levels rose from pre-booster geometric concentrations (GMC) 3.1 2.1 microg/ml respectively 19.6 21.0 1 month post-booster. Serum titres (GMTs) for serogroups increased 156- 113-fold 7.1 327.4 800.7 control group 45 children received (with no prior history vaccination) had SBA GMTs 2.3 pre-vaccination rising 8 post-vaccination corresponding GMCs 0.8 10.8 microg/ml. These rises following vaccination are indicative priming.
